The willow hare weaving kit is suitable for complete beginners. It comes with enough willow to make one hare, a 24 page instruction book filled with step by step instructions and photos, and a soak bag for the willow.
The dried willow does require 5 days soaking before it can be used. All you need is pair of secateurs and a day set aside to e make the hare. Why not get some friends together and make a fun day of it. The kit costs £55 plus £10 postage anywhere in the UK. Please email katherine.miles@btinternet.com to order one. Please see below a lovely review from Charlotte and her friends who recently ordered the kits. Testimonial Myself and a group of friends were unfortunately let down by another willow artist, so found Katherine’s details on-line and contacted her to see if she might be able to support us with our hopes to make willow hares. She came back to us immediately, and our timing was perfect as she was in the process of preparing a kit to explain how to make willow hares yourself in the comfort of your own home! We were provided with an excellent booklet that she had written which takes you through step by step, with simple, easy to understand text, supported by photographs. Each kit is designed to make one hare and consisted of enough willow, a soak bag, and a 24 page booklet, and each kit only cost £45 plus postage which was considerably less expensive than the original instructor-led course we had enquired about. The kits were delivered to the house where we had planned to make them in plenty of time ahead of our date, and we ran our own self-guided hare making course last weekend. It was such an enjoyable day, and actually interpreting the instructions rather than being told what to do added to the fun. Once the hares had their ears attached they took on characters and names – exactly as Katherine had predicted. We were able to do it at our own pace, support each other and all thoroughly enjoyed the day and experience. We ended up with 6 amazing hares, all looking completely different from a character perspective, but technically the same. We would thoroughly recommend Katherine’s kits for making your own willow masterpieces – it was fantastic fun. |
